Surprise, surprise.

Well, my parents' surprise anniversary party went so well. They had NO idea. I rounded up friends from childhood, coworkers, old roommates, and everyone. Our friends, the B family, invited my parents to dinner and picked them up. That's how I got them there and they never suspected a thing. Mommy Dearest's first words to me were "I wish you would have hinted better so I would have dressed better!" (I'd told her she should dress up because they were celebrating their anniversary. She didn't get the hint. But I think she looked good.) Here are some pictures. (Sorry they are all out of order. I'm posting from my iPhone.)

Love,

The Dirty Thirty.

So I'd intended to post this yesterday, but it didn't happen.

As of April 10, 2012, my parents have been married for THIRTY years.  I'm an only child, so it's all up to me to plan something.  I decided I needed to do something to commemorate the tremendous occasion.  Being on a budget, I found a great deal to rent the bottom floor of a local restaurant.  I made myself a list of the 50 closest friends and sent out invitations to a surprise anniversary party.  The party is this Friday night, so I'll be sure to let you know how it turns out.  Keep your fingers crossed that it all works out!

(The outside of the invitation.)
(The inside.)

And just because it's so stinkin' sweet, I snapped a picture of the card Daddy wrote for Mommy Dearest.

Happy Anniversary to my awesome parents!

Doesn't she look so excited to get married?!

So cute.

Sentimental hugs,
A
